Raymond, as a developer, why do you care about how many customers you get?
That is the job of the sales team.
If the sales teams determines that such issues are hurting their sales figures, then discussion about addressing it may be worthwhile. That may include educating other people or it may end up just working around their mistakes.
But instead of ever letting such a discussion proceed, you seem fully willing to work around it, even when you are not in the wrong.
